Longacres Farm is located in the scenic hills of the historic Spencer Butte area. Started as a breeding farm in 1976, Longacres has evolved into a full service riding school.  The facility has two indoor arenas for all weather riding.  There are 160 acres of scenic woodland trails for students to learn trail riding and enjoy the outdoors.  The school horses are mixed breeds including quality Arabian blood lines, Morgan, Quarter Horse, POA, all chosen for their special temperament and intelligence.  Great care is taken to keep each horse in the best of health and spirit so that every rider gets the experience that usually comes with owning ones own horse.

Education is our specialty with emphasis on the correct riding foundation for all equine sports with good safety habits that can benefit the rider for a lifetime.  Longacres seeks to develop a meaningful relationship through quality communication between rider, instructor, and horse.  Longacres provides riding instruction in such sports as Quadrille, Jumping and Trail for children age 6 and up.  During the summer months we have week long day camps.  Workshops and clinics in subjects such as, horse breeding, health care and horse training, are scheduled throughout the year for students to broaden their knowledge and skills.  For those who are moving towards horse ownership we have a Lease Program providing an alternative to ownership.

Adults can enjoy Longacres programs too!  We have specialized programs for adults who want to learn to ride or who just want to become more proficient riders.  Many parents find this a rewarding way to share their child's experience.

Our endeavors all lead to a meaningful and caring relationship between horse and rider.  Learning the needs and language of the horse leads to quality riding skills and a rewarding experience.
