Longacres students and 4-H'ers Work on Pasture!
|
On Friday August 15, 2008 a crew
of about 14 worked on cleaning an fixing a Longacres pasture.
Students learned about pasture maintenance and horse safety
while working in 80 degree heat. They removed poisonous
weeds, trimmed tree and bush branches above horse eye level,
picked up manure and branches. The knowledge they obtained
is important in knowing how to give your horse a safe and secure
environment to live. It also leaves one with a muscle deep
understanding that horsemanship is more than grooming, saddling
up and riding! Look for date of the next pasture work day
and let Crystal.
The photos didn't come out all that great (must have been the
heat waves!) but if download the large version and zoom in
you get a fair amount of clarity.
