Longacres is considering boarding a small number of horses.  This will depend on the needs of the horses and owners.  If you are interested please email me with what you and your horse's needs are.  greg@longacresfarm.com

Dear Students and Parents,

Longacres Farm Riding School is closing.  I say this with mixed feelings.  After 22 years of providing horseback riding lessons, it is hard to let go of such a rewarding endeavor.  The decision to close was based on many factors but mostly the poor economy that has increased overhead and kept new customers away.

We want to thank all of you loyal horse lovers and parents who have faithfully brought your child for lessons rain or shine.  We could not have lasted these 20 some years without your support.  The closure will cause some inconvenience but we are working out ways to fulfill any membership agreements by riding here or at Whispering Meadows where Crystal will move her horses.  During this time we will be open certain days to meet those obligations but we will not be taking any new students.

We sincerely hope that you will continue your horse education.  Crystal has been one of the best instructors Longacres has had and I highly recommend that you try to take lessons from her.  She will be starting a full time job and will be limited in teaching hours but this should be temporary and by spring, she will have time for all of you. Take it from me good horseback riding instructors are hard to find.  I will keep the latest on our website so you can check there.

I am sure all of you will wonder what will happen to the horses.  Star, Sara, Annie, and Twister get to retire here at Longacres.  They will enjoy the comfort of a warm barn when they want or wander out into the weather when they want; munching goodies here and there…they have earned a peaceful retirement.  The other horses (Sally, Elliot, Shadow, JJ, Cruiser, and Shadow) will go to Whispering Meadows a very nice equestrian center off highway 99 on the way to Junction City.

Happy Trails,

 Greg & Nancy Sulliger
