| We ship from many different points in the US and Canada. We use UPS as our primary shipping carrier but will use
other carriers as well. Sometime
products are shipped from the manufacturer or distributor. In order to keep costs down we try to eliminate as many shipping
legs as possible. For
example if a manufacturer is willing to ship for us we will have kept
the shipping from going to a distributor, to us and then to the
customer. Three shipping legs verses one, manufacturer to customer. That saves a lot of fuel! The down side is sometimes manufacturers are slow to ship. Getting products to customers over night has costs both in
dollars and in environmental impact. Shipping time can vary a lot. The typical shipment is UPS ground, that take 1-2 business days to package and ship, 5-7 business days to deliver. 3 Day Select usually takes 5 days when you add the packing and handling time. Although shipping usually takes less time it can take more depending on when you place the order and where the package is going, for example if you place the order Friday at 5:00pm it will not get processed until Monday, if you live in Maine the package has to go across the entire US by truck (7 days). Beneficial bugs usually ship overnight but some bugs ship on certain days, handling live products creates special problems. It is our desire to get products to you as fast as possible without making mistakes but we also want you to have a realistic view of what it takes and yes we sometimes do make mistakes, chances are very slim you will encounter a mistake. When we make a mistake we do fix it! If you have questions the best way is to email us, email gets looked at all the time by different people, answering the phone is a different story and is much harder to do. Our 24-7 order desk will try to answer questions about shipments but emailing is your best way to go. |

Additional Shipping Charges Normally the shipping cost you see in the shop cart is correct. Some of our distributors' charge us for handling and we need to charge more for your shipping than it actually costs. On some of the bigger and oversized items this cost may not be correct as it only uses weight. For those items that will cost more we will email you for authorization to ship at the adjusted rate, at that time you can either accept or reject the order. You will never be charged more than what has been quoted without your prior authorization. Example, a cat pole has an initial cost of $12.50 for shipping; because it is 6 feet tall and cannot be broken down it really ships for $27.50. You will be asked to authorize the additional shipping charges. It is important that you respond to these authorization requests immediately because we will not ship until we get your authorization. The bottom line is we try to charge as little as possible and when comparing us to other stores please consider both the shipping and product cost to determine your final costs. |

Damaged shipment IMPORTANT - We must be notified within 24 hours of any products damaged in shipment. DO NOT DELAY as this may effect the way we remedy the damage. You should also report any shipping damage immediately to the shipper e.g. UPS. When a product is damaged during shipment there are multiple parties responsible. In order to get your product replaced we need to work with the shipper and sometimes a manufacturer or distributor. As a general rule the more expensive the item is the more important it is to notify us. We will do everything possible to remedy the problem as fast as possible. International shipments We ship ALL our products to anywhere in the United States. We ship MOST products to anywhere in the world shippers will take it. For shipments outside the United States please email us with the product information and a complete physical address you want shipped to and we will email back a shipping cost.
